Self Care
What’s that smell?
Sometimes your nose knows when something is wrong. Here’s how
to understand your most personal odours.
Mild
IT’S PROBABLY
Nothing. Everyone’s vagina has a different scent. Whether yours is
sweet, musky, or a bit acidic, you should be able to smell it only
when you’re changing undies.
WHAT TO DO
Keep clean and healthy by washing daily with gentle soap.
Fishy
Bacterial vaginosis, an infection you get when the natural bacteria
inside your vagina oermultiply, or an STD (like trichomoniasis), if
you are sexually active.
See your doctor. Just a few days on an antibiotic can clear up the
infection – and the smell.
Bread -Y
A yeast infection. But not all yeast infections have an odour.
Sometimes they just cause itching and/or a lumpy discharge.
See your doctor. You can use over the counter treatments for this
but ask your physician first.
Sour
Sweat trapped in an around your underwear – which could turn into
bacterial vaginosis if you ignore the problem.
Take a shower daily, and after exercising, make sure to wash again
and change your undies.
The big cover up
Deodorant soap, heavily perfumed body washes, douches, and
scented tampons may
seem like good ideas, but they’re not. Dyes and perfumes can
irritate your vagina –
causing infections, like bacterial vaginosis. A mild shower gel or a
glycerin soap (like the
ones shown here) is all you really need.

Please wear PANTIES!
Going commando in public can make it easier for you to come into
contact with dirt and
germs that may irritate you and lead to an infection. To be safe,
always wear 100% cotton
undies. The natural fibers help protect your sensitive vulva from
the dirty world outside!
