When desire or grasping arises in us,
our minds become very busy.
Why?
Because, in order to satisfy the desire or greed,
we have to come up with many schemes,
and engage in every conceivable means for attaining that which we seek.
The inevitable result is that while laboring hard to get ahead, we forget our "original nature".
It is just like when we are thirsty;
we look for water to quench the thirst.
But we must not forget that drinking too much water can also lead to problems.
When desire or greed is excessive,
we will surely become trapped in some difficult situation.
This does not mean that we should suppress or eliminate all desire or grasping.
It means that we should know restraint and moderation.
